Plague-infected squirrel shuts Los Angeles park

 

July 25, 2013--During a routine check of a national forest in California, a squirrel was found to be infected with plauge. This prompted officials to shut down the Angeles National Forest until further testing could be conducted. Agricultural workers will dust squirrel burrows to reduce the flea population.
