Vaccines and Your Baby: Third Edition 2010

A booklet of the Vaccine Education Center at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)
January 1, 2010

In this 44-page booklet from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), parents are provided information on "how vaccines are made and how vaccines work to protect our children from harm."

It provides an illustrated overview of many of the vaccines provided in childhood immunization schedules, including the measles-mumps-rubella vaccines, the pneumococcal vaccine, and the hepatitis B vaccine, amongst others. It also provides answers to common questions and concerns about vaccines, the U.S. immunization schedule and access to additional resources.

This booklet is available in English and Spanish.

There is also a related video series, called Vaccines and Your Baby, consisting of chapters of approximately 1 minute in length. Physicians from The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia explain several childhood vaccines and the diseases they prevent, how vaccines work and how they are made, and share stories of children affected by vaccine-preventable diseases.
