July 25, 2013--This week the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced a press briefing that they were not reaching enough U.S. teenagers with the three dose human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV). Even though the vaccine has been proven effective and safe, the percentage of teenage girls receiving the shots has not grown over the past year.
July 24, 2013--Zambia continues a roll out of an HPV vaccination program which began in May at selected primary schools in the country. The intention is to immunize school girls between the ages of 9-11 against human papillomavirus. Zambia's cervical cancer rates are amongst the highest in the world. Read more here.
